Sant Silvestre Chapel
Welcome to the chapel of San Silvestre of Vallirana.
Although historically the chapel has been considered a building of pre-Romanesque origin (S.X), the last archaeological intervention in 2020 would place its origins in late antiquity (S.V)
Several evidence have traced back five centuries the origins of the construction and placed several mysteries on the table today unanswered.
With this audioguided visit we propose to you make a travel though time from the late antiquity to today thanks to the archaeological and architectural evidence that has helped us to explain the history of the building.

Overview
The centennial oak of San Silvestre
This strain belongs to the centennial oak of San Silvestre, a monumental tree of local interest that became a reference for the people of Vallirana until his death as a result of the 2009 wind storm.
The strain reminds us the oak as a sentinel of the passage of time.
Its growth rings are a witness, and they are also a witness to the climatic conditions or disturbances that it lived through during its life.
